The Future of Learning Challenges

CEC’s Virtual Open House

On 25 November 2021, we successfully hosted our Online Open House. Together with our community and experienced professionals, we learned about the latest research on neuroplasticity, strengthening cognitive capacities and addressing learning difficulties.

The Arrowsmith Program has human value in children and students. It creates the ability of being independent thinkers and learners, and it is what we owe them as parents and educators. To me, it is a mission to bring this program to students’, parents’ and teachers’ acknowledgment. It is like  planting seeds in a fertile soil to prepare our land for the future.

Rita Margarita, CEC Founder

We need this program in Europe. I congratulate students like Elise and Kareem for sharing their experience. I wish they could talk to all the students that are suffering when structures are not meeting their needs for cognitive transformation; professionals in neuroscience like myself are aware of the importance of such a revolutionary program. Helping students unlock their learning capacities is important for everyone. Every student is significant to the future of our planet and deserves the best nurturing.

Dr. Irina Schurov, Nutritional Neuroscientist and Therapist

Research studies on the outcome from the training on Symbol Relations cognitive function for students 10 to 12 years old at SEK university in Madrid shows significant improvements in visual-spatial long term and visual-spatial short term memory. Active engagement over all academic students with a dyslexic profile improved their difficulties. Parents and teachers remarked on students gaining self direction and resiliency.

Dr. Laura Herrero Perez, SEK Madrid Teacher Manager and Researcher

After one year in the Arrowsmith program I started to see dramatic changes in myself: my anxiety significantly diminished, I can now follow up with conversations in groups, my social skills relevantly improved since I started making friends effortlessly. Reading books became easier, as well as retaining information which was a struggle before. I improved relations at home with my family.

The best description of my life before strengthening my cognitive functions is living with a fog in my head. I feel like  the fog had dispelled. I have a clear flow of thoughts and a far better understanding of the world.

Elise, CEC student

Before the cognitive program my daughter had difficulties organizing herself, planning ahead and managing her money. It was hard for her to participate in conversations particularly in a group of people. Elise struggled to get the message behind words and this affected her academic studies as well as relationships with others. She was unlikely to take initiative and needed to be constantly guided. We knew that she was intelligent, but somehow couldn’t get her tasks completed. Despite her perseverance and hard work at school, she couldn’t fully achieve the desired results. She was often unhappy and had a fair amount of anxiety.

Nowadays, Elise participates actively in discussions, has opinions on so many topics and  her social interaction has improved. She has become a volunteer  for a few environmental organisations and takes initiatives on her own. These changes are so immediately apparent to people who have known her for some time and  our friends and family are astounded by her transformation.

To sum it up she is like a flower that is at last blossoming, and we are delighted that the future for her looks so much brighter.

Natalie, CEC mother

Before the Arrowsmith Programme, our daughter wasn’t showing any affection or care for us and she did not like to communicate. She was often isolated in her room and it was hard for her family to enjoy spending time with her.

Today, I love spending time with her. She takes pleasure in being with me at breakfast time before going to work and her conversation is gentle and pleasant. Moments with her are pleasant – I treasure this special time with her.

Today, she is curious about what is going on in the world and feels part of a larger community. She talks about politics and the economy in a knowledgeable and constructive manner and she is developing her own ideas and views on all topics. And she listens to us and takes advice. She is talking about her future with purpose and motivation and I can see that the cognitive training has unlocked her potential. During this transformation she has become the person that she was meant to be.

Before the Arrowsmith program. I didn’t know how to harness the gifts I have. I felt I couldn’t learn academic and social material. I was suffering not to be able to make friends and to communicate my feelings. There wasn’t clarity in my head. After two years in the cognitive training, I gained confidence in myself, and realized that I am able to achieve. I understood my potential and how to develop and harness my gifts: I am an accomplished student and I trust myself as an individual.

 Kareem, CEC student

My son’s first sign of improvement through the Arrowsmith Cognitive Training was most significantly evident in his social interaction — starting to better  express his feelings in efficient verbal communication at home, whereas before he used to hide himself under lies or throwing tantrums when frustrated.

After 6 months in the individualized program, he improved in writing, reading and computation, starting to show self confidence and motivation. Then we finally saw the development of a future independent learner. All our family benefited out with this transformation. The tension reduced in the house. He started to understand jokes and became a funny character himself. We finally experience a peaceful and joyful home environment.
